A friend of mine gave Ted a fairly old power wheels Harley. The paint on the plastic body has seen better days. Anyone know if I could paint it and if so what kind of paint? I'm assuming there'd be some prep needed other than taking off the ripped stickers and washing it. It's red now, but I'd love to paint it black and get some new Harley stickers and flames for it.

Krylon fusion. It has been 2 years since I have done it to my fender flares and only sliding on a tree took it off.

Most paint brands have a plastic paint. Krylon Fusion I hear is good, but I was only able to find it locally at Wal-Mart (which I try to avoid like the plague). Rust-Oleum has a plastic primer that lets you paint it with basically whatever you want once you apply the primer. They also have a Universal spray that supposedly works on virtually any surface. I've had good luck with it on plastic.

I've been looking into this for the odd chance I ever get around to making skins for the Jeep. Just make sure that whatever paint you get specifically lists plastic as the materials it works on. Read the can for proper preparation, but you want to have the surface as clean and dry as possible -- you might need to scuff it up with a scotch brite pad before application.

I used some Rustoleum "direct to Plastic" paint on my patio furniture after a light sanding with a Mouse Sander. What was once headed for the dump looks better than new!
They have a "Hammered" paint that looks pretty cool!
