I've been taking vehicles here since 1997 when I had an '89 Toyota Pickup bed replaced.
Anyway Tuesday night I went to the Phish show in Canadaigua and as I was trying to find parking my 2005 Sahara Unlimited jumped on me, then I heard grinding. Luckily I was only about 50 yards from a parking spot at the time. I jumped out of the jeep and took a few steps to the back and the rear differential was gushing! Oh No, I thought, this is really not good. So we headed into the show and I furiously texted several people to figure out my course of action after the show. I'm pretty sure at this point I'll need a flatbed to get back to Buffalo and I'm prepared for a very long night.
Great Phish show!
After the show I got back to the Jeep and sure enough pretty much all the fluid was on the ground. Luckily a friend of mine has Triple A Premier! Although it took him an hour to get out of the lot he was in and find me. WE called Triple A and they picked me up about 2:30am. I dropped off the Jeep to United about 4:30am. Put my key and a note through the key drop and continued my journey home. It was a 23.5 hour day!!!!!
Joel from United called me about 8:30am and we went over what happened. Matt called me a bit later and we discussed the possibilities. I was expecting the worst and hoping for the best. I found out today Matt was thinking the same thing and had called around for a new rear end. I told him if there was anything he could do to get this fixed so I could leave Friday at 7am for a camping trip it would be greatly appreciated. I picked up the Jeep Thursday about 4pm. Sweeeeeeeeet.
The guys at United kicked maximum amounts of ass! They stepped it up and were able to fix it. to quote Matt " you have a horse shoe in a place where most people can't see it" or something very close to that!!! Apparently a ring bolt worked itself loose and was pushed into the housing causing the catastrophic leak. The lucky part was the bolt did not ruin the gears. Matt cleaned everything up, welded the housing, filled with oil and closed her back up.
Nice job guys, thanks! You saved me once again! Keep up the excellent work and I'm sure I will see you soon enough when I decide to put the lift on. |

It was actually, "You have a horse shoe in a place that gets little sunlight." |
